History Bay Sales Company is a manufacturer, direct importer and exporter of costume fashion jewelry with a solid reputation for quality and affordable prices. They have been supplying huge quantities of both domestically manufactured and imported costume jewelry to retailers for over 35 years giving retail clients unparalleled sell thru and margins. The company’s product development team, internal sourcing, domestic manufacturing and national sales force, combined with personal family direction assures limitless ability to create partnerships with additional successful retailers.
The company was founded in 1982 by Morty and Errol Salm. In 1988, Steve Friedland joined the company to form the current management in place today. Later that year they opened a 28,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Rhode Island which they still operate. Bay Sales were among the pioneers to import directly from Korea, Thailand, India and China. Most of these relationships are still intact assuring extensive brand selection. Bay Sales also has long term close relationships with retailers. This mutual trust has resulted in high quality, excellent fashion trend design and lower costs for both the retailers and consumers.
In the recent years, Lance Salm, Jarret Salm and Ian Friedland became the third generation to join the company to help propel Bay Sales into the future. Their contemporary ideas have included web initiatives and social marketing strategies. At the same time, they have developed private label programs with retailers in the US and abroad.
